UNIT 1 :
GEROUND AND INFINITIVE USAGE
Intro: A geround (it is added ing) is a formed noun from a verb.
- We must use geround after a preposition.
- We can use By + Geround to say how to do something.
- We can use for + Geround to describe the porpose of something.
For example:
- It is a good corkscrew for opening bottles of wine.
- You can discover what happens by asking that lady.
- Studying hard always help.
TIPS:
- Is when the verb is added “ing” to the term.
- Whenever the sentence has CAN goes the preposition “by” or “for”.
- Whenever there is a preposition the next verb has to go with ING.
PREPOSITIONS:
- For / Para.
- By / Por.
- After / Después.
- Before / Antes de.
- About / Acerca de.
- Of / De.
- In / en( dentro de algo).
- On / en ( sobre algo).
- At / A.
SENTENCES
A sentence is a group of words that has a verb on a main element.
for example:
- A nice boy ________
- A nice boy sings ________
There are three different types of sentences.
1)SIMPLE SENTENCE: This sentences has just one main idea.
“ My brother cooks spaghetti”
2)COMPOUND SENTENCE: Two different ideas that can be understood one by one by itself.
“My brother cooks spaghetti and my sister takes a shower”.
3) COMPLEX SENTENCE: Two different ideas, however, one of them can not be understood by itself.
“ If i speak laurder, everyone will understand”.

Dependent clause :
- If.
- I.
- Speak.
- Laurder.
Independent clause:
- Everyone.
- Will.
- Understand.
